It has been a chilly March across Eastern Carolina. Temperatures have averaged 3 to 5 degrees below normal so far this month and little change in expected until Easter Weekend. Overnight lows will continue to dip to near freezing with afternoon highs in the 50s. The cold air mass will slide offshore during the weekend allowing slightly warmer air to move into the area. Highs should reach the lower 60s Saturday and middle 60s for Easter Sunday. There should be lots of sunshine on Saturday but clouds will increase on Easter Sunday, with a few showers possible by evening. Milder conditions will continue into early next week but another chilly air mass is expected to invade the area by the middle of next week.
