A cooler than normal spring is finally evolving into a seasonable weather pattern. Temperatures will reach well into the 70s and lower 80s Wednesday through the weekend. There could be a few showers Wednesday and again late Friday into the weekend. A cold front will approach the area Saturday night and Sunday causing an increase in shower and thunderstorm activity.
Some folks in eastern Carolina are ready for summer weather but it may be a while before we see hot temperatures. The cold front coming through the area on Sunday will lead to another cooling trend early next week. Overall, it appears that temperatures next week will still average a bit below normal for this time of year. The big question is when, not if, hot temperatures will arrive in our area. I should have a better handle on that forecast in another week or so.
