Temperatures returned to reality Tuesday after flirting with the 80s on Monday. Highs on Tuesday afternoon were nearly 30 degrees cooler than Monday despite plenty of sunshine. It appears we are heading into a seasonably mild to cool pattern over the next week. Our average high at this time of year is near 60 degrees and we should be close to that range each and every afternoon for the next several days.
Most of the very cold weather seems to be bottled up well to our north and west. Some of that chilly air will make it to our area from time to time but the full brunt of the chill will stay to our north. We should see some showers along any cold fronts that move into the area. The next one should arrive on Sunday. We are also moving into the severe weather season so don't be surprised if we start seeing some strong thunderstorms in the weeks ahead.
