Another round of precipitation is moving our way later Monday evening into Tuesday. At this point the computer models are bringing moisture up the east coast in the form of rain for eastern Carolina. Unlike the last couple of systems to affect our region with snow and ice, this one won't be as organized or intense as the past couple of storms. In addition, there will not be enough cold air in place to support wintry precipitation this time around. If you have plans for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday, I think we're looking at dry conditions during the day, with increasing clouds and temperatures in the upper 40s to around 50 degrees. The deeper moisture doesn't move into the region until Monday night when the rain begins and continues into Tuesday. The rest of the week is looking dry with high temperatures near or slightly below normal. The normal high temperature this time of year is around 51 degrees. It looks like another shot of very cold air is heading our way Friday into the weekend. High temperatures on Saturday may struggle to the middle 30s for highs.
