Many folks have be waiting for the heat and it will finally arrive later in the week. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 80s Wednesday and upper 80s to around 90° both Thursday and Friday. Dry conditions will continue for the next 3 to 4 days as well.
The overall weather pattern is finally becoming more summer-like across the area as the cold air across Canada that has been pushing southeast is now retreating. The heat arriving at the end of this week will likely be the warmest since last year. Warm and humid conditions will last through the upcoming weekend. The water along the beaches remains chilly but sunny and warm conditions will allow those temperatures to slowly warm up by the weekend and next week. I'm still not ready to stick my toe in the water but it won't be long now.
