Many communities across eastern North Carolina will see heavy rainfall over the next few days. A slow-moving cold front will push into the area by Saturday then stall. Deep tropical moisture will continue to move along the front causing torrential downpours. Parts of Beaufort County received 3 to 5 inches of rain Thursday afternoon. Other communities will likely see similar rainfall amounts by Friday night. The stagnant weather pattern will continue to produce warm and wet conditions through the weekend although the heaviest rainfall should be over by Saturday morning. Drier air will gradually move into the area by early next week.
Looking ahead, it appears that we'll be moving into a very nice weather pattern by the middle of next week. We should see lots of sunshine with highs close to 80 and lows in the lower 60s. I guess we just need to be patient for a few days.
