The first real taste of winter will arrive this weekend across eastern North Carolina. High pressure across the Midwest late Thursday will push much colder air into the Southeast over the weekend. Temperatures across the western half of our state should see lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Some locations in eastern North Carolina could also see lows at or slightly below freezing along and west of Highway 17. It will remain well above freezing along the beaches. Many locations along and west of Highway 17 will see some frost for the first time this season. Highs over the weekend will hit the middle 50s.
