It has been a much colder than normal winter across the Southeast and little change is expected for the next 7 to 10 days. We will see some moderation of the chill for the weekend as highs reach the middle to upper 50s. Seasonable temperatures will continue early next week but there are indications much colder air could arrive by the end of the week. It has been an exceptional winter with temperatures averaging between 10 and 11 degrees below normal in December and around 5 degrees below normal so far in January. We have also seen more than our fair share of snowfall with some coastal communities seeing more snow than inland and northern locations. It is too early to know whether the snow will return but more chill seems to be on the way.
