Weather conditions have become tranquil across the area over the past few weeks. It has been a nice change since the hot and thundery summer brought heavy rainfall to much of the area. It appears our current weather pattern will extend through much of the remainder of October. Highs will range near 70° or into the 70s with overnight lows in the upper 40s to middle 50s.
Hurricane Rafael will rough up the waters along our beaches for the next few days as it skirts just east of Bermuda Tuesday night. We are not finished with the tropical season yet. In fact, the season doesn't officially end until November 30. We've been lucky so far in eastern Carolina and ocean temperatures in our area have cooled considerably since late summer. This makes it increasingly unlikely that a major storm could reach eastern Carolina for the remainder of the season but it doesn't discount a strong nor'easter.
Otherwise, get ready to enjoy some nice fall weather.
