Weather conditions have calmed down a bit over the past few days. The events of April 16 across our area and the tornado outbreak across portions of the Southeast last week have caused many folks to be concerned about any thunderstorm that develops this time of year. There is no doubt that spring storms tend to be more severe than at other times of the year. Late March through May is the most likely time for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes across our area. The Southeast will get a break this week although an isolated severe thunderstorm can never be ruled out when a cold front crosses the area. It is uncertain how long the break will last but I think many folks will join me in hoping it will last for a while. In fact, I'm sure most of us would be just fine if we didn't see severe weather again for the remainder of the year.
