The weather pattern is slowly transitioning to seasonable weather across eastern North Carolina. For most of the summer, eastern North Carolina has been under the influence of a stronger than normal ridge of high pressure. The high pressure has allowed extremely hot temperatures to encompass the area. That high is now moving westward into the Rockies, which has allowed more seasonable air to filter into our area. We should continue that trend through this week as highs hit the upper 80s most afternoons. The relative humidity will stay in the low to moderate range and that will make those temperatures feel more comfortable. We should see lots of sunshine throughout the week and it should be great beach weather. Highs on the beaches will be in the middle to upper 80s with a light onshore breeze both Tuesday and Wednesday. The next chance for showers arrives Thursday night or Friday.
