The transition to cooler fall-like weather will get underway at the end of this week. A strong cold front will pass through the area late Wednesday followed by much cooler air. We'll see lows in the lower 40s across inland communities by the end of the week. After a brief warm-up early next week, we'll see an even stronger shot of cold air arrive in the area. Another dose of showers may precede the front during the middle of next week. Following the front will be the coldest air of the season. It would not shock me to see near freezing temperatures across some inland locations by the end of next week. We could certainly see some scattered frost if the winds diminish at night. It will be an early taste of winter.
