We've seen drier conditions across eastern North Carolina over the past 10 days to two weeks. It looks like we'll see a change in the weather pattern that would produce more shower activity over the next 4 to 7 days. The first chance for showers will develop late Wednesday into Thursday as a front stalls near eastern North Carolina. A much stronger cold front and area of low pressure will move into the state late Saturday into Sunday and that will bring a much better chance for showers. Significant rain could fall at that time. The rain could help alleviate the abnormally dry conditions we've seen over the past few weeks. The longer range forecast indicates near normal rainfall and above normal temperatures for the spring. Early indications point to a wetter summer this year but I'll update that forecast later in the spring.
