It will be a dry and mild holiday weekend across eastern North Carolina.

A cold front pushed off the North Carolina coast Wednesday afternoon taking the rain and most of the clouds with it.  High pressure across the Midwest Wednesday evening will move over eastern North Carolina on Thanksgiving Day giving us sunny skies and seasonable temperatures.  The high will hang around our area on Friday before moving offshore over the weekend.  Highs will be near 60° Thanksgiving Day and into the middle 60s on Friday.  We'll see sunny skies each day.  The holiday weekend looks very mild with afternoon highs in the  middle to upper 60s.  Shopping weather will be great this weekend unless you like cold weather when you hit the stores.  Cooler conditions with a chance for showers will develop by early next week.  However, lovers of winter weather will have to wait a while to get their wish.
