The weather pattern has settled down and we're in for a pleasant weekend across eastern Carolina. An area of high pressure will be positioned just off the Carolina coast for the next few days and will block the movement of cold fronts into the area. A light southerly breeze will develop by Friday and continue through Sunday. Temperatures will gradually warm from around 60° Friday to around 70° by Sunday. Some scattered clouds will develop but mostly sunny skies should dominate the pattern.
It is not uncommon to have long stretches of mild and sunny weather during the late fall. In fact, the period from mid-October to late November tends to be the driest period of the year. It certainly has turned out that way for us. After a wet summer and early fall, much of eastern Carolina has received less than an inch of rain during November. It appears we'll see another week of dry and rather mild conditions. There are hints of changes by mid-December but let's enjoy the nice break while we have it.
