Warmest June Ever

It will be the warmest June ever recorded for much of North Carolina.

The Raleigh-Durham Airport and Greensboro have recorded the warmest June ever recorded for the area.  As of June
29th, the average mean temperature was 81.8° at Raleigh-Durham and 80.0° at Greensboro.  Additionally, 2010 came in as runner up at both sites in respect to the number of days in which the maximum temperature reached or exceeded 90°.  Previously, the warmest June was in 2008 when the average temperature in Raleigh was 80.7°.  More heat is on the way after a brief break over the next few days.  By early next week we could see temperatures well into the 90s once again.
