The summer sizzle hits its high spot today with extremely hot conditions across the east. The combination of a hot southwesterly flow and very dry ground allowed temperatures to be near 100 degrees in many locations today. We'll see a couple more days of 90s in store for the east, but not as hot as it was on Sunday. A stronger cold front will move through the area on Tuesday increasing the chances for showers and thunderstorms at that time. Cooler 80s will be moving into the area on Wednesday with much drier air for the end of the week with plenty of sunshine. A refreshing northwest flow will be the result for the end of the week making for pleasant conditions. Here are the high temperatures across the region today.
