Eastern North Carolina received numerous showers and a few thunderstorms over the past few days. Rainfall totals ranged from just under an inch in our southern sections to as much as 3 to 5 inches across the north. The weather pattern will calm down quite a bit for the late week and weekend. Dry conditions are expected for Thursday and Friday. By the weekend we should see widely scattered showers or thunderstorms each day. The weekend event doesn't look widespread so the shower activity should not put too much of a damper on outdoor activities. It should be seasonably warm for the next several days with highs close to 80° and lows near 60°.
