A storm system developing across the lower Midwest has spread clouds and moisture into the Southeast. Through Wednesday afternoon the rain has been light across our area. Showers should be on the increase overnight across eastern North Carolina although rainfall totals should remain fairly light. Showers should become heavier on Thursday afternoon. Total rainfall should average an inch or more across much of the area by Saturday evening. The rain should finally taper off by Saturday night as a cold front finally sweeps off the coast. Temperatures will remain quite mild through Saturday. We should see seasonable temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s by Sunday and early next week.
