Yesterday, I discussed the chilly temperatures we've experienced this winter season with most locations between 3 and 4 degrees below normal for the three-months period of December through February.  All of us know how wet it has been with well over 30 inches of rain since early November.  As temperatures got colder we did have several episodes of ice and snow in the region.  Since December, total snowfall at the WITN Weather Station has been 8.3 inches.  The average is 4.1 inches annually.  Consequently, this season we've recorded two years worth of ice and snow.  Of course, we have some years when no snow accumulates on the ground.  Typically, we see little snow after the first week of March.  However, I remember March 24 and 25, 1983 when 7 inches accumulated right here.  The latest accumulated snow that I've seen occurred on April 10, 1989, when I recorded 2 inches at the WITN Weather Station.
