The Cold Continues

February continues to be quite cold in the Southeast with little change expected soon.

The third month of winter may be the coldest of the season.  We averaged between 2 and 3 degrees below normal for the two months ending January 31.  Through February 9 we've averaged about 5 degrees below normal for the month.  More cold air is on the way over the next week.  So far we've dodged the snow bullet this month.  A southern storm should bring some snow to our south Friday and Saturday.  At this point it appears we'll miss most, if not all, of that activity.  I think it is safe to say that winter is far from over and that we should have another chance or two to see some of the white stuff.  Between now and then it looks like we need to keep the overcoats handy.
