Eastern North Carolina experienced another bout of heavy rain on Thursday night. Rainfall amounts averaged over an inch with some areas receiving more than two inches. Rainfall amounts included:
Manteo - 2.83"
Cape Hatteras -2.33"
Edenton - 1.93"
Jacksonville - 1.66"
Morehead City - 1.62"
Greenville 1.57"
Washington - 1.31"
Kenansville - 1.23"
New Bern - 1.13"
The rain tapered off late Friday and Saturday looks like a day with some sunshine and highs in the lower 50s. More clouds will move into the area by Sunday afternoon as another cold front approaches from the west. We could see more showers by Sunday evening into Monday morning with moderate to heavy amounts of rain possible. El Nino is definitely giving us a winter to remember.
