Over the past week eastern North Carolina has seen temperatures reach well into the 60s on three days. After a brief cool down at the end of the week we should see another surge of warm air on Sunday into Monday before the cold returns. New data is suggesting that colder than normal air will arrive in eastern North Carolina by the middle of next week, with chilly air to hold at least into the middle of February. The Climate Prediction Center indicates not only that chilly temperatures will return but that we should see several storms, giving us above normal precipitation. Now some folks would like to see some snow and it appears we will probably have a few chances from the middle of next week into February. Meteorologists always have a tough time forecasting snow in our area and this year will be no different. In the meantime enjoy the few days of mild weather we have left before colder air unloads on us once again.
