A Wet Year

It has been a very wet year across much of eastern North Carolina.

Eastern North Carolina has experienced one of the wettest years since the flurry of tropical storms and hurricanes in the late 1990s.  The WITN Weather Station has received 9.44" of rainfall this month and 19.23" since November 1.  The average rainfall during that period of time should have been about 7 inches.  For the year we've received about 59 inches.  It looks like we'll finally get a break from the rain over the next few days.  The rain will be replaced with cold temperatures.  In fact, highs over the weekend are likely to stay in the 30s despite plenty of sunshine.  Let's enjoy the break from the rain despite the cold temperatures.
