A Chilly Winter Forecast

A new winter forecast issued from the Climate Prediction Center indicates below normal temperatures for the Southeast.

Colder than average weather is expected for the Southeast this winter.  Meteorologists usually define the winter season from December 1 through the end of February.  The southeastern half of the United States should be colder than normal while portions of the West should average slightly above normal.  Precipitation should be slightly above normal across the South.  For eastern North Carolina it will likely mean more clouds and chilly conditions.  Average winter highs in our area reach the 50s during the afternoon and drop to the 30s at night.  There is no way to tell whether there will be more ice and/or snow this winter but we should certainly have a few chances.  The most likely time for frozen precipitation in eastern North Carolina is from mid-December to mid-March.

Well first it is going to be colder because the moderate el nino pattern allows low pressure areas to contstantly ride off the Carolina Coastline and grab cold, arctic air from the North and pull it in, storm after storm. Also, sun spots are at a minimum. I do not believe in global warming. Personally, I believe that the Earth is simply trying to regulate itself and maintain balance. In the early 1930s, a warm period was followed by much colder patterns. I have seen models and heard other meterologists say this winter will be perfect for sonw-lovers in NC and the East Coast, even for Christmas!

Why will it be colder than normal in the Southeast when we are in the midst of a severe, life threatening global warming trend? Al Gore and others say we have less than 5 years before we destroy the planet so why would the temperatures be falling this winter instead of rising? I am not a weather expert but something or someone does not make sense. Are we being deliberately mislead and do the "scientists" in charge of the research take us for complete idiots that cannot put 2 and 2 together to determine why we are being lied to. It is all about $$$$$, grant money for the scientists and tax money for the politicians.
