The recent cold spell for eastern Carolina has been a shock to the system, and for good reason. The average high this time of year is still around 73 degrees. High temperatures in the low 50s and have put our temperatures a good 20 degrees below average. The extensive cloud cover hasn't helped either. But there are changes coming with warmer weather next week. High pressure that will give us chilly weather early in the week, will move away later in the week leading to warmer temperatures in the 60s and eventually 70s as the week goes on. It appears the next chance for rain comes in late in the week, into the weekend. The 8-14 day forecast, for October 25th through the 31st, is calling for below normal temperatures and wetter than normal conditions.
