Warmer air is finally returning to eastern North Carolina. High pressure has been responsible for a cool and dry northwesterly flow during the past few days. Overnight lows have been hovering in the upper 40s and lower 50s. The high pressure will move off the coast on Friday allowing winds to return to a southerly direction. Southerly winds will take temperatures into the upper 70s and lower 80s each afternoon from Friday through the weekend. There will be a chance for showers on Saturday. Otherwise it looks like it will remain warm and dry into early next. It will be a good time to get out and enjoy some the activities going on this weekend. The North Carolina Seafood Festival in Morehead City should have nice weather with only a slight chance for showers on Saturday.
