It looks like eastern North Carolina will be making a transition to fall weather over the next 3 to 5 days. The first cold front will arrive early Friday and bring lots of clouds and a few showers. Temperatures will be cooler on Friday and Saturday as highs hold in the 70s and lower 80s. Another cold front will arrive Saturday night and early Sunday bringing more clouds and showers. By early next week our first real feel of fall will occur as skies clear and temperatures at night dip into the middle to upper 50s. The air will be dry along with plenty of sunshine for much of next week. The best news of all is that the tropics remain quiet with no tropical systems expected to develop over the next few days.
