Rain on Labor Day. I can hear the groans already. Rain on Monday. Yeah...maybe... a little bit. The typical weather guy response...right. Yeah...in a way. The past couple of days the computer models have been hinting at some showers possible on Monday...Labor Day. There is a pesky stationary front offshore that will try to send some moisture...in the form of showers towards North Carolina. At this time it appears the best chance of seeing some showers and storms will be east of highway 17. The past couple of days the chance for rain on Monday was 20%. Now today it's been increased to 30%. I think it's a lot to ask the weather Gods for a flawless holiday weekend for Eastern Carolina. Then again our state sticks out like a sore thumb into the Atlantic just asking for clouds and showers. At least we had stellar weather for the Pirates game. If you had to pick your poison...I think most people would prefer beautiful football weather..over a few showers on Labor Day. Monday will not be a wash out by any means..but if you get caught under a shower or storm..don't be surprised.
