Tropical Storm Danny has caused much concern about the weekend across eastern North Carolina. In fact, Danny continued to weaken on Friday and by late in the day it was barely a tropical storm. Danny will bring increasing swells and wave action along the coastal area overnight and there is a tropical storm watch in effect from Cape Lookout northward to Duck, along the Outer Banks. The stronger winds and heavy rain will stay well off the coast as it moves east of the coast by approximately 50 to 75 miles. It appears we'll see a typical late August weekend after Danny leaves our coast early Saturday. Each day will feature a few showers but most of the time will be partly cloudy with temperatures near 90° inland and middle 80s along the beaches.
