Drought conditions have largely ended across North Carolina . One year ago about 75% of the state had abnormally dry to exceptional drought conditions. Today only 16% of the state have abnormally dry conditions with no areas in a drought. We've seen significant rainfall across our area since the fall and this has helped alleviate the conditions. Current forecasts suggest this summer will not be as dry as we've seen over the last few years. Near normal to slightly above normal rainfall is expected into this fall. Rainfall this year has been near normal but it will take more showers to make up for dry years of 2007 and 2008.
