Temperatures will be returning to normal later this week and weekend as the cool air finally moves out. It certainly isn't unusual to get a couple of col snaps in May but most folks are ready for the weather to feel more like summer. The cold high pressure responsible for the chill will be moving offshore on Thursday. Winds will return to to southerly direction by the afternoon bringing warmer air into the area. Areas along and west of Highway 17 should reach at least 80° on Thursday and into the middle 80s by Friday. The Memorial Day Weekend is shaping up nicely with highs in the middle 80s each day, except upper 70s along the immediate coast. Dry conditions should continue through Friday. Over the weekend we could see a few isolated showers as more moisture returns. However, the risk of rainfall will stay under 20% each day Friday through Memorial Day. Another cold front will approach the area by the middle of next week and that will increase the threat for showers. For most of us it should be a beautiful weather weekend.
