Sunshine and warmer temperatures are definitely getting folks to think about going to the beach. Keep in mind that weather along the coast can be quite different than inland areas, especially in spring. In the spring we usually find that temperatures along the coast are about 5 to 10 degrees cooler than inland areas. However, it really depends on the wind direction. Winds from the south and east blow off the colder ocean water and can keep weather conditions rather chilly. Temperatures can warm dramatically when the wind veers to the southwest to northwest. Winds over this week will generally blow from the south at light speeds. Consequently, temperatures along our beaches will average about 10 degrees cooler than communities along and west of Highway 17. It will still be quite nice though as highs should reach the middle to upper 70s.
