Temperatures across eastern North Carolina dropped into the lower to middle 30s early Wednesday morning but most locations stayed just above 32°. The one exception I could find was at the airport in Jacksonville where an overnight low of 30° was recorded. We started a comeback today with most areas getting into the upper 50s. Milder air will continued to surge into the eastern portion of the state on Thursday as highs reach close to 70°. Even warmer air is expected on Friday as afternoon highs hit the middle and upper 70s. Showers should arrive on Friday evening and continue into Saturday morning. Clearing skies are expected later Saturday as slightly cooler air returns. Easter Sunrise services should see clear skies with temperatures hovering in the middle 40s. Easter Sunday afternoon should see highs in the middle 60s.
