Up and Down Temperatures Next Week

With proximity to the jet stream...we'll see the mercury going up and down much of the week.

As we head into December get ready for a temperature roller coaster ride. A strong jet stream will be around eastern Carolina for the next several days. At times we'll be on the east...or mild side of the jet....and other days we'll be on the west...or cold side of the jetstream.

On the days we're on the warm side of the jetstream we'll see temperatures in the upper 50's and lower 60's....and the days we're on the cold side...we'll see highs in the upper 40's and lower 50's. Overnight lows will fluctuate quite a bit as well...ranging from the upper 20's to the upper 40's.

It appears the really cold air will be just off to our west...and we'll only see a modified version of that. As far as precipitation...it appears anything that falls will take the form of rain..since the critical freezing levels aloft will be north and west of the area. And rain chances will be pretty low once this weekend rain event moves out. In fact the only chance for rain comes in  later in the week.
