A strong cold front moving through eastern Carolina is responsible for damaging storms.

Up to six possible tornadoes may have affected eastern Carolina. Although damage may look tornadic...the National Weather Service still has to investigate the damage to make it official. The following locations reported possible funnels: Elm City...Lucama...Kenly...Smithfield...Benson...and Dunn. There was also a possible tornado in Martin county as well.

Tornadoes that occur at night obviously make it more terrifying..because it's dark and secondly some tornadoes are rain wrapped and can make it nearly impossible to spot tornadoes. That could have been the case Saturday morning.

There were also reports of wind damage at St. Pauls...Godwin..and Leggett, North Carolina.
