Hints Of A Chilly December

Longer range computer models are suggesting colder weather by the middle of November that could stick around through much of December.

It is difficult to talk about cold weather after all the warm conditions we've seen lately.  Temperatures reached well into the 70s on Friday and mild conditions are expected through the weekend.  A look at the calendar would suggest that colder air will come to North Carolina soon.  A closer look at the weather data also indicates that colder air may make a visit by the middle to latter part of November and December.  The last two winters have been mild so we may seeing a balancing of mother nature this year.  Of course, there is no guarantee that I'm going to be right about the colder weather.  I also know that forecasting weather is not an exact science, especially when you try to predict a month or two ahead.  However, much of the weather data I've been reviewing would suggest that "Old Man Winter" may attack earlier than later this year.  I'll follow up on this forecast within the next two weeks.
