Sometimes Mother Nature's timing isn't always the best. Last week we had a good soaking of rain late Friday into Saturday and Sunday.
This week...it's more of the same..with rain again on Friday into Saturday. However this time around I think Sunday will be a winner with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70's. A nice warm up before the "Big Chill" coming this week.
Rainfall amounts since Friday have been pretty impressive. With a line of showers and storms late Saturday...the Outer Banks had the most rain since Friday. Here's a list of the rainfall tallies:
Hatteras 0.94", Washington 0.50", Greenville 0.37", Goldsboro 0.37", Kenansville 0.30", Manteo 0.29", Edenton 0.26", Rocky Mount 0.23", Morehead City 0.22", Jacksonville 0.20", Roanoke Rapids 0.19", Ahoskie 0.15", and Elizabeth City 0.07".
It doesn't appear we'll repeat this pattern again at the end of next week. In fact after a "chill-down" for a couple of days...temperatures rebound nicely for the end of the week...with temperatures near normal..in the upper 60's with dry conditions.
