Get ready for a decent warm up as we head into a new work week.

A trough in the western part of the country will bump a ridge of high pressure over the east coast increasing the heat progressively for the next several days.

The average high temperatures are typically in the lower and mid 70's...but the next several days we'll see temperatures well above that. In fact...with highs in the low and possible mid 80's that puts our temperatures about 10 to 12 degrees above normal.

The ridge of high pressure building in from the north will shut off the scattered showers we're seeing out there this evening. There could be a lingering showers near the southern coastal areas early Sunday...otherwise expect drying conditions the rest of the day.

So get ready for a taste of July and August type weather instead of mid-October readings.
