Erratic Fay

Tropical Storm Fay continues to move slowly and erratically through the state of Florida.

Tropical Storm Fay has been inundating Florida for the past two days.  The storm, which is currently located a few miles northeast of Cape Canaveral, began stalling during Wednesday morning and continues to bring torrential rainfall to much of the central portion of the state.  Record rainfall is possible over the next 24 hours as the storm creeps along the coastline.  One positive aspect of Fay is that she has remained over land much of the time since she formed late last week.  By Thursday night Fay will likely head to the northwest across northern Florida bringing very heavy rainfall to that area as well as southern Georgia and much of central and southern Alabama.  Although Fay never attained hurricane status, she has been every bit of the rainmaker tropical systems can be.
