Drought Update

Severe drought conditions continue to make its way East.  Since our last drought update, Onslow, Jones and parts of northern Craven and eastern Beaufort counties.  Extreme drought conditions have moved back into Nash and eastern Wilson county.  Those under a moderate drought include Dare, Hyde, Washington, Tyrrell, Pamlico and Carteret.

Today's rainfall totaled from a quarter to a half inch in most areas.  Any little bit helps but we could desperately use a lot more.

I am sick and tired of hearing how blessed we are with all this rain. We are nearly floating around here...mud up to our eyeballs. I don't believe there is no way there could possibly be "Drought Conditions" of any description in my area and I am sick to death of hearing about it. I guess if its dry in the western part of the state....we should all suffer...they want to keep eastern NC as their so-called "wetland playgrounds". I wish they had all this water and the accompanying mosquitoes that will inevitably come with it. Thats the same mentality that accounts for their burden of "new stormwater regulations" for the 20 coastal counties"...I guess they have no stormwater runoff since they are in a severe drought...(that makes sense). But, at least our dear governor finally blessed us by lifting the "state-wide" burning ban! Maybe Eastern NC needs to secede from the state for all the consideration we are given.

We had a 30 year drought in CA. Hope is doesn't get that bad here. Had to turn off the water in between soaping up and brushing teeth...that helps believe it or not.
