It has been two weeks since Mother Nature watered our lawns...Now there is a good chance for rain Thursday.
A cold front has it's sights on Eastern Carolina and will make it's way across the area from 7AM - 2PM, before pushing off our coast. The good news is there is a 70% chance that our backyards will receive the rain. Rainfall estimates are between .25"-.75" and we can't rule an isolated inch in some parts that receive heavy rain.
The bad news is if you are a warm weather lover the front will bring our temperatures crashing back down into the "chilly" category. Thursday is going to be a backwards day when it comes to highs and lows. We'll likely reach our high during the morning before the front gets here, and our low just before midnight when the front is well off our coast. That means you can expect low 60s in the morning with temperatures gradually falling throughout the day. During the evening we'll easily be back into the 40s.
I hope your lawn gets wet tomorrow....Jennifer Harcher
