Chill in the Air!

Everyone has been asking when it would arrive...well here it is...the autumn chill.

You could really feel it rushing in here on Sunday afternoon with a brisk wind and the rustling leaves.  In fact temperatures on Sunday ended up falling for much of the afternoon as the colder air rushed in.

I knew fall was truly here this morning when I was preparing my forecast for the noon broadcast.  For the first time this season, I used the word "COLD" to describe the weather for tonight.

Skies will be clear, winds will be calm, the air will be dry.  These are all of the conditions needed to get the temperatures to fall like a rock, and that is exactly what they will do tonight.  In fact, many areas away from the water will see temperatures into the middle and upper 30s tonight.  For some of us, that means the possibility of frost. The most likely areas to see a frosty start to the day on Tuesday will be areas well inland along the I-95 corridor.  Those locations are under a frost advisory.

Even spots like Greenville, Williamston, Kenansville and Windsor could see a little frost on the rooftops in the morning, but the frost should not be heavy enough to damage any plants.

Stay warm and see you on TV...

Jamie
