A Quiet Weekend

Earl is long gone and now we've settled into a quiet weather pattern for most of the weekend.

Eastern North Carolina is experiencing some of the nicest weather of the summer.  Hurricane Earl brushed the North Carolina coast last week but he is long gone.  We've seen plenty of sunshine since Earl moved away from us.  More sunshine can be expected for the next two days.  High pressure across the Middle Atlantic region will give us clear skies until late Saturday.  Highs will range into the lower to middle 80s, which is close to normal for this time of year.  Clouds will increase by Sunday as a cool front approaches the area.  Some showers and a possible thunderstorm could develop by Sunday afternoon.  For now there is no concern for tropical problems through the weekend.  Tropical Depression Igor is over 3,500 miles away from our coast and poses no threat.  Otherwise conditions are fairly quiet.  Enjoy the nice break since we are just now entering the peak of the tropical season.
