Janet sent us an e-mail this afternoon with this great news -
To whom this may concern: My name is Janet and we live in Walstonburg,NC, Greene County. I desperately need your help in an attempt to help locate my dogs. They have been missing since Saturday before lunch. They have underground fencing in the backyard, and also a 10 by 20 pen in which they were not in because they have free reign of the backyard, and doors stay open on pens just so they can go in/out of the rain. Due to electricity going out on Saturday morning around 6 a.m. the fencing was not on. We also had tree #1 to fall right beside the pen on Saturday, at that time my husband and I talked about putting them up at that time, but came to the conclusion they would be better off still running around and being able to move about as they needed to. They were very anxious and active that morning due to not really knowing what was going on with the severe weather we were having due to the hurricane. In the event of running around the tree that had fallen, sniffing and smelling, doing the normal dog things they discovered the fence wasn’t on and took off. They took off, I’m guessing in the woods behind our house and where we live, it is a 5 road connecting block. The Cupuelo road,Mooretown road,Knox School road, Meadow road, and also the Gay road which goes back over to Hwy 91.. The dogs also could have changed direction at any time and crossed the road at any point and be somewhere on roads like Vandiford Thomas, and so on.. The dogs do not know this area other than our backyard. Their names are Parker, she is a white boxer with a black eye and ear. She is 5 years old and very friendly. She will have on a collar with a underground box on it. Saleen is a brindle color pitt bull with a white chest, also friendly. He is 4 years old and also has on a collar with underground box on it, that is unless their collars have been ripped or torn off somehow. I am please asking land owners such as the Moore’s, Gay’s, Relyeahs, Holloman’s and so forth to please scout all of their property and call their names in an attempt to save them. They have not eaten since Friday nite and I am sure they are very hungry. I also understand this area used to be called Friendship hunt club, not sure what it is now but whomever has a part in ownership of any of this land or surrounding land on other nearby or connecting roads please be on lookout and participating in helping the dogs return home safely. They also have current rabies and any other immunizations Thank you all very much and if we owe anyone anything for their help please let us know. These dogs are like our kids. They dearly loved and missed and we are worried to death about them. Thank you very much.....
Chris, Thank you so much for your quick response. Our prayers were answered today. Both dogs have returned home, 1 this morning and 1 this afternoon. I guess it is true what they say, kids leave home but they always come back. Thank the good Lord above… Thank you again. Janet
