Kay Sokolovic explains how locally produced foods, crafts and beverages will be available at a unique event in Kinston.

Slow Food Down East announces the Harvest Market & Dinner featuring locally produced foods, crafts and beverages, November 14th, 2009 at Chef & the Farmer restaurant in downtown Kinston. The market will be free to visitors from 12noon-4pm and will showcase premium foods from over 18 local food producers and small farms in the parking lot at Chef & the Farmer.

The dinner, a truly amazing event, will feature a beer tasting & food pairing combining the talents of
Mother Earth Brewing and Vivian Howard, Chef/Owner of Chef & the Farmer. Tickets for the dinner are
$50.00 each and all proceeds will benefit Slow Food Down East.

The market will have seasonal foods to taste, kids activities and an apple tasting. It will feature both seasonal
local produce & artisan cheese, locally produced proteins such as beef, chicken, pork, lamb, prawns and fish.
The market will be an excellent opportunity for area residents to meet and learn about locally produced foods
as well as to sample and purchase these products.
