The story of Carlina White is simply amazing. She was kidnapped from a hospital in New York when she was just a few weeks old, only to be reunited with her actual parents at age 23. While the story brings such a great amount of joy, it's absolutely heartbreaking. The thought of a parent losing a child in anyway is very upsetting, nauseating, even. . It does take an additional twist of cruelty when another person deliberately takes away a child from his or her parents, as was the case of Carlina White.
However, it is encouraging that the avenues exist that Carlina was able to figure out her true family. She investigated her past through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Social media is also helping law enforcement in actively searching for a missing person. You can "like" the "North Carolina AMBER Alert" program on Facebook to keep you up to date of any missing children in our area.
