Can you imagine what it would be like to be an expectant mother going in for an ultrasound to find out the sex of your baby only to find out your unborn child had a serious heart problem?
That is the exact scenario Ken and Sharla Smith of Pitt County were facing as they awaited the arrival of their first child.
Luckily for the Smith's, they had faith, family, friends and Children's Hospital in Greenville.
Today, 15-month-old Anderson Smith, with two heart surgeries already under his belt, seems like any other happy-go-lucky child.
If you have ever made a donation to the Children's Miracle Network broadcast that benefits Children's Hospital in Greenville, I don't think the Smith's would say it's a stretch to say you had a little part in ensuring their son's health. Your pledges make sure the hospital has the specialized equipment, that it might not otherwise have, to take care of kids like Anderson.
Anderson is just one of the many miracle stories you'll see during this weekend's 25th Anniversary CMN broadcast on WITN. The broadcast kicks off Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. and runs through 11:30 p.m. We pick things back up Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. and continue until 6:30 p.m.
It is our hope that you will once again show your generosity this weekend and help bring about more happy endings like the Smith's.
