Can you believe we're still talking about the massive oil spill in the Gulf? And we're not just talking about the clean up efforts and how difficult it's been to actually get that oil out of the water...we're talking about the amount of oil that is STILL spewing into the ocean every day.
I can only imagine what it's like there and the amount of frustration the engineers and clean up crews feel right now. And no one wants to take blame for the initial explosion that happened. Seriously...the big oil fat cats could've never predicted or prepared for something like this? Something tells me they just didn't think about it and now look at the situation they and we are in. To see them testify was a little sicking too...i mean they say they're going to pay for "substantiated" claims which lord only knows how much that will be. Inevitably...will it be you and I...the consumer who will really pay when the price of gas gets to levels we saw 2 years ago?
I really feel for those people in LA. As that oil creeps closer to their coastline, they've gotta be thinking who's going to step in and help with this situation.
I can only hope this situation works out for those people and for us, because the detriment it could have has the potential to be far reaching.
