The Olympics are supposed to be a moment of national pride. If you've been watching, and millions have, you should be overjoyed.
At this moment the U.S. leads the medal count. We currently have a total of 20 medals. Germany is second with 11. Russia has only four. The U.S. also leads in the gold medal count with 6 to Germany's 4. You can see the full rundown by clicking on the "Medal Count" tab on the top of our homepage.
There have been many highlights of the Olympics so far, but one of the biggest came last night when Evan Lysacek won the gold in men's figure skating...that hasn't happened since 1988.
Will the strong showing by the U.S. solve any of our other problems? Not likely. Does that take away from the extraordinary accomplishments those athletes are achieving and the sense of pride it brings to the U.S.? Not at all.
Go Team USA!!!
